Hand me the hand me downs!

Okay...believe it or not....everything in this outfit is second hand! This outfit is a mix between charity shop finds and hand me downs from friends/family . . . it's definitely proof that you don't have to break the bank or shop directly from the highstreet to find clothes!

Living with three other girls definitely has its bonuses, swapping clothes is a great way to clear out or build up your wardrobe.... so guys I'd like to set you all a challenge! I'm sure a lot of you are thinking you are in need of revamping your wardrobe for winter, but how about instead of heading out to buy new items, why not throw a clothes swap party? It's the perfect excuse to catch up with friends over a bottle of wine and is a great way of finding new clothes without having to leave the comfort of your own house and enter any clammy and busy shopping centers!

Do any of you swap clothes already? Or shop second hand? Let me know below or tweet me at @dimplesdiaries !

Thanks for reading lovelies!

  1. I saw this loo on twitter and thought it was very 'me', clicked through onto your blog and saw we have the exact same shoes! Hand me downs and second hand are great, and I love wearing clothes that've been in my wardrobe for yearsss to if that counts haha. Must be fab living with 3 other girls! I still live at home and don't have any sisters but raiding my mum's and dad's wardrobes is surprisingy successful.
Already following you on bloglovin and love your style!

  2. I'm always passing on my old stuff to friends/family...I don't get their stuff though lol! But clothes swapping and charity shopping is such a good way to source 'new' things x

  3. I love this! Being a younger sister (and the youngest of a huge family of cousins) I definitely get a lot of hand-me-downs and share a good amount of clothes with my sisters and friends. I've even recently started "borrowing" from my parents (and grandparents) wardrobes!

  4. Lovely outfit! A clothes swap party sounds like a great excuse to get together with friends and update your wardrobe. I love hunting around charity shops for unique pieces for the new season, even though the clothes themselves are from previous years!

  5. Oohh that leather jacket. Good find! I love hand-me-downs. Ebay, charity shops, swaps, family, wherever it comes from, if it is new to me, I get the same buzz :)

  12. Beautiful dress! It reminds me of Christmas, but the way you styled it with all black and leather it becomes a very edgy and cool outfit <3 I actually love second hand but where I live you can barely find cool stuff... however, your totally right that we don't need to buy new things all the time! xo

  13. Wow good work on being so thrifty! Love your dress, the colour looks great on you! I'm thinking of having a swap party with my friends - no point hanging on to clothes that could go to a better home! x

    Always, Alice x

  14. Love the color of your dress! Very fall appropriate and perfect with your haircolor! I love the combination of leather and lace!

  15. There is a great point in this blog. Author might have really researched the theme.
Writing takes times and after such work I like watching women clothing in the form of junior trendy clothing.
