On Sunday I had the pleasure of celebrating my first Anniversary with my boyfriend at the stunning hotel, At The Chapel in Bruton, Somerset. It was EJ that found the hotel for us after scouring for eco-friendly places for us to stay outside of London, when he came across this little gem. We had such a great time, the staff were really friendly and attentive, the food and champagne was incredible and the setting of the hotel was in the picturesque town of Bruton, surrounded by old houses and rolling fields.
Our room was beautiful and these photographs really don't do it justice! Everything down to the last detail was thought of and we were surrounded by luxury everywhere we turned. The bed had plenty of pillows and was so soft with beautiful crisp white bedding and the whole room was lit by floor to ceiling stained glass windows. The bathroom was the real masterpiece - heated floors and towel racks, a bath so deep my head just about poked out of it, a walk in wet room, matching White Company dressing gowns and plenty of soft white cotton towels as well as shampoo, conditioner, body wash and body lotion samples from REN skincare.
While At The Chapel was a place of unmistakable luxury, the atmosphere was incredibly friendly and comfortable. In the morning we woke up to fresh croissants hung on our door handle from the downstairs bakery, we had fresh coffee, tea and locally sourced jam, butter and milk. 90% of the food was organic, a huge achievement especially for a hotel as busy as they are, and what ever we needed, it was no hassle to the staff whatsoever.
We were incredibly sad to leave, but we will definitely be staying again soon. Thank you to everyone at At The Chapel for making our stay and first anniversary together so special, we can't wait to come back!
